Papa Johns in Filton has applied for a licence to serve food and non-alcohlic drinks through the night, from 11pm-4am.

If the application is successful, the pizza delivery store in Gloucester Road North will be permitted to serve hot meals, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

In the application, the pizzeria states that extending operating hours “will meet the demand of late-night diners, boosting customer satisfaction and revenue.”

In the bid, under the Licensing Act 2003, the takeaway chain states that it is situated amongst other late-night businesses in an area that already experiences high footfall.

As part of the application process Papa Johns has outlined the steps it will take to ensure it meets the licensing rules.

For instance, Papa Johns states that it will “implement security measures such as CCTV surveillance and trained staff to deter any potential criminal activity.”

It adds that it “will prioritise the safety of customers and staff by adhering to fire safety regulations and providing clear emergency exit routes.”

And it will manage noise levels, ensure proper waste disposal and manage queues at all times.

Papa Johns said in its application: “Staff will monitor the frontage to prevent loitering excessive noise or anti-social behaviour, and any customers causing disturbance will be asked to leave immediately.”

It was acknowledged that opening through the night could result in deliveries and pick-ups in the early hours.

Residents who may be affected by this must have made a representation to South Gloucestershire Council by June 18.
