Filton Festival celebrated sky-high attendance this year, with the town council reporting overwhelmingly positive feedback following the 25th annual Filton Festival.
The aeronautical-themed event on July 5 honoured the 50th anniversary of the commercial flight of the Concorde, featuring aptly themed activities such as hot air balloons and model airplane displays.
A spokesperson said: “We estimate we had between 5,000 and 7,000 through the day. This is based on a mixture of estimated numbers on site at different parts of the day, the number of cars in the car park and change over through the day and bar and food takings.
“We had over 85 performers across two stages (eight different bands/groups), the majority being from Filton, with others being the wider Bristol area.”
It was reported that 150 people took part in the World Record attempt to have the most people pretending to be an aeroplane at the same time.
Organisers are collating evidence to submit for verification.
At the time of print, feedback received via an online survey was very positive. Ninety-four per cent of all reported submissions rated the festival four or five out of five, where only three people rated the event below a four.
Live entertainment was the most frequently selected highlight, followed by family activities, displays, stalls, food and drink and community atmosphere.
Multiple residents praised the festival’s variety, improved layout and overall organisation.

Claire Hazelgrove, MP for Filton and Bradley Stoke, also attended the event. She said: “A brilliant Filton Festival! Thank you to everyone who made it happen! Such a great range of stalls to go around – from crafts and games to local charities and businesses.”
Filton Festival 2026 was delivered by Deryncoch, and a spokesperson said: “Thank you to the thousands of you who came to Filton Festival 2026 – to the incredible local performers and stalls, those who ran high-flying activities, and everyone who came to soak up the atmosphere. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
