Man charged with attempted murder after incident in Filton Avenue

A man has been charged with attempted murder after an incident near a Filton pub.

David Sosa Saloman, of Oldmixon Crescent in Weston-super-Mare, was remanded in custody having been charged in connection with an incident in Filton Avenue on Tuesday 28 February where a woman was found wounded.

The 36-year-old has also been charged with one single count each of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and affray.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called to Filton Avenue after a woman sustained a number of stab wounds in an assault outside the Bulldog pub.

“She was taken to hospital by paramedics where she remains. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

“Anyone who witnessed what happened, or may have dashcam footage of the area from this afternoon, and has yet to speak with police is asked to call us on 101 and quote reference number 5223048570.”

Regulars in the pub and shoppers at the nearby Spar helped the victim at the time.
