Kickboxer’s knockout success

Local kickboxer Liam Holden has made a highly successful debut for the combat sports promotion, Total Kombat, marking an important milestone in his already impressive career.

On June 13 the kickboxer from Filton took to the stage at Liverpool Olympia.

Holden put up a good fight against Tom Davies, a former marine who had plans to shock the favourite.

Despite the pressure, Holden kept his composure and won his debut fight in the second round.

Describing his fighting style as “fast, explosive and showreel”, Liam certainly lived up to expectations and earned his place at the high-level tournament.

Holden has proven himself on the international stage, consistently winning gold medals in kickboxing.

In the past year, the sport has taken Liam internationally, competing in tournaments in Venice, Abu Dhabi and Croatia.

The well-decorated champion trains at GB Fit, Horfield, with coach Sharon Gill, who is also from Filton.

With his Total Kombat debut now behind him, Holden’s focus turns to the next challenge, and on current form, he looks set to make an even bigger impact on the national stage.
