Filton resident Liam Holden has secured a silver medal representing Team GB at his first WAKO World Kickboxing Championships for seniors and masters, which took place in Abu Dhabi in November.
Liam described the competition as a huge learning experience, stating that he has returned stronger and more determined — and still on the hunt for gold.

He said: “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to compete and to represent my country.”
Alongside his athletic success, Liam is deeply rooted within local sports community. Recently, he organised a kickboxing assembly at Filton Hill School in partnership with Filton Town Council.
The session aimed to inspire young people, promote discipline and confidence through sport, and showcase positive local role models.
Liam Holden has returned to Filton with a silver medal after competing in the senior category at the WAKO kickboxing world championships for the first time.
