Filton Town Council has welcomed two new Labour councillors following the Conygre ward by-election on May 14.

In a direct contest with Reform, both Andy Mills and Mac Elmorssy won the election with majorities of more than 100 votes.

The newly elected councillors have filled the two vacant seats and will serve until at least May 2027, when the full council elections are due to take place.

Claire Hazelgrove, MP for Filton and Bradley Stoke said: “I was really pleased to see people in Filton reject division and choose community, and now they’re going to have two brilliant Labour town councillors, Andy and Mac”.
