Local people and visitors can find their way around Filton with a new creative map of the area – and you can pull it out and display it if you turn to pages 16 and 17 of this month’s print issue.
The South Glos-funded map, which is also on display at Filton Library, highlights everything the area has to offer shoppers and visitors. It has been designed in collaboration with local young people, Filton Town Council, businesses owners and community groups.
South Glos is working with community stakeholders in Filton to make a number of improvements to the area. These include:
- Six new benches to be installed in Filton Community Garden and Elm Park
- Planting to make Filton Community Gardens more pollinator friendly,
- Repair work near shops along the Gloucester Road North to help prevent flooding.
- Market research on future improvements to support traders and shoppers.
